OneText keeps your contacts and messages on your Mac. They never leave it.

What never leaves your Mac

Nothing about your contacts, your messages, your recipients, your send logs or their phone numbers is ever sent to us or to anyone else. The app reads Contacts and the Messages database on your Mac, and sends texts through the Messages app. That is all local.

What the app sends to us

OneText talks to our server at api.onetext.app to start the trial and to check or activate a license. Those calls send only:

When you download OneText, our server adds one line to a count: the time, the version and the country the request came from. It does not keep your IP address or anything that identifies you.

Cloudflare hosts our server, so it sees the IP address of every request, as any web host does. When someone asks for a key to be sent again, our server also keeps a counter tied to that IP address (the first 64 bits of an IPv6 address) for up to 24 hours, along with a one-way hash of the email, to limit abuse. We do not store IP addresses with licenses, devices or purchases.
